A former bank, this 80-year-old building on the corner
of Broad and Main in Griffith now houses a visual design firm.
Georgian architectural Style.
Wood's historic grist mill in Merrillville is now
a museum. Built in 1838, this housed the first continuing industry
in Lake and Porter counties. Tours are available. Call (219)
947-1958.
The twin-spired Saints Peter and Paul Church, Merrillville,
(1916), once situated in the middle of farmland, now finds itself
surrounded by a modern residential and shopping area.
This older home stands out from its neighbors on a
modern residential street in Lowell. The solid brick house, originally
a parish house and situated next to a Main Street church, was
moved several miles to its present location!
