Historic Photo of

Monroe County Courthouse

Bloomington, Indiana

Our thanks to Bob Jackson, President of Farmers and Mechanics Federal for this wonderful period photo of the Monroe County Courthouse, Bloomington, Indiana. nearing completion.

The Monroe County courthouse is a beautiful Classical Revival building, a style which owes much to the Beaux-Arts tradition and was a popular form of architecture for government buildings in the early 20th century.

Mr. Jackson also gave a copy of the photo to the Monroe County Historical Society and had one framed to hang in his Bloomington Office.

The building as it looks today is shown (in very small images) at the top of the official government website of Monroe County.
